What is the Meta Pixel?

The Meta Pixel is a piece of code that you can install on your website to track conversions, optimize your ads, and build audiences for future campaigns. It's a powerful tool that every online marketer should be using.

How do I set up the Meta Pixel?

Installing the Meta Pixel is fairly straightforward. Just follow these steps:

1. Go to your Facebook Ads Manager account, select events manager and on the left hand side click the ‘+’ toggle

2. Select ‘Web’ then click the ‘connect’ button

3. Name your pixel and choose whether you want to install it yourself or have Facebook do it for you. Facebook will guide you through the process

4. If you choose to install it yourself, Facebook will provide you with a piece of code that you need to add to the header of your website

5. If you're not comfortable doing this yourself, you can always ask your web developer or someone who is familiar with code to help you out

And that's it! Once the pixel is installed, you can begin tracking conversions and building audiences for your future campaigns.

What are some of the things I can track with the Meta Pixel? You can use it to track all sorts of different website events, including:

  • Page views
  • Adds to cart
  • Purchases
  • Lead
  • Complete registration
  • Sign Ups

However, this may require specific ‘events’ that will need to be setup either by a developer or you can do this yourself through Google Tag Manager.

You can also use the pixel to create custom audiences for your future campaigns. For example, you can create an audience of people who have visited your website in the past 30 days or people who have made a purchase on your website.

What are some of the native integrations for the Meta Pixel?

There are a number of different platforms that have native integrations for the Meta Pixel. This includes popular eCommerce platforms like Shopify and WooCommerce, as well as other website CMS platforms like Webflow, Squarespace and Wix.

The best part about using a native integration is that they create and send many of the events that you require to Meta.
